I read about banana cake over on Sue's blog, a year without. I have been wanting to try it since and only just got round to it tonight. It was super easy to make and smells divine. I will be trying it tomorrow.
I make banana and sultana muffins all the time for my boys as they are one of their favourites. I try and leave some to go a little brown to add to the sweetness.
Lol I think cakes should be eaten immediate without fail! Although to be fair this one lasted really well. Last piece just eaten by my son as we speak.
I love adding something extra - sunflower seeds, coconut, cranberries (fabulous!). Not all at once. I got a huge bargain bag of yellow stickered bananas last Christmas and everyone got a banana cake with cranberries for part of their present. They went down really well.
Two fabulous ideas. I was thinking starting off with basic raisins. Thank you. Also this year I am planning personalised hampers so a lovely additionAl idea.
I love bananas but I hate Banana bread, tried several over the years not really a cake eater think thats why hope you enjoy it
ReplyDeleteI was suprised at how it tasted.I have a thing about banana bread, or did, as now I am a convert.

ReplyDeleteLovely, would you mind sharing your recipe? I added a touch more sugar as the ones I used weren't very ripe but I didn't want to wait
DeleteOops, just having a mooch around blog land and forgot about this post I'd commented on. Will try and do my banana muffin recipe for you tomorrow.x
DeleteMmmm delicious! I've got a recipe that uses 7 bananas, 4 eggs and makes 3 loaves - one for eating straight away & 2 for the freezer.
ReplyDeleteoooh I love any recipe that says you mus eat one straight away!!

DeleteMine is a panasonic SD-256, but any BM with a 'bake' on it will do this recipe
DeleteIts just a brilliant use for those really black soggy bananas! Love it.
ReplyDeleteNormally we have them but isn't it typical that when I made this we didn't.
