This cherry tree was really productive as were some others we have. This tree however is smaller and easier to pick than the others, so we have claimed this one and we'll just have to see if the birds beat us to the other ones!
The tree before and after netting was put in place. I hope we get a decent crop again this year, one we can actually harvest though!
Oooh having your own cherries is fab!
ReplyDeleteI hope so!
DeleteFingers crossed for you, our wildlife can be so clever at harvest time.
ReplyDeleteYes and we do need to share....just not this tree ;)
DeleteI hope you get a good picking, the three I have in the fruit cage are ours there was a few flowers this year but really not expecting anything until next year, the 101 I planted the birds can have there pick of :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your 101 trees! A handful is better than nothing I guess, who knows what will come!
DeleteI gave up and leave our cherries to the birds... probably because I'm too lazy to try and do anything about it! :D But hoping they'll leave my strawberries alone this year... only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed for you
DeleteWhat a luxury to have fresh cherries. I think we've planted 6 or 7 fruit trees in the 5 years we've been here. They've all died or were eaten by deer but for one apple tree. The irony being the property is full of apple trees and i only bought that one as it was on sale too cheap to pass up.
ReplyDeleteIt's a dream to have a cherry tree. Maybe I'll buy one and put my energy into babying it along.
